Tool Requests

Postby Aiden » Mon Nov 16, 2009 12:27 pm

All the crazy-mad hackers and coders of hackerthreads have been bugging me ever since we started this section for ideas on what to code. One of them, however, brought up the idea of a request section, where people who aren't as proficient in programming (or just not in a certain language or area) could request tools for the rest of the team to code.

So, I want to hear from everyone who has an idea, however vague it might be. What would be handy on your hacking expeditions? What would you use for fun? What do you want coded?

I'm glad for this area Druspeth many cheers.

I am one of those folk who can sit and hammer through a coding problem, but I am not overly inventive on what to build....

There's already a million of those.
Unless you need a brute force tool for some very specific application, there's no need to write a new one.

Look at Hydra and Brutus if you just want a generic brute force tool.
If we're breaking the rules, then how come you can't catch us? You can't find us? I know why. Cause, it's ... MAGIC!

I think there are enough tools available out there to do more or less anything, what I find interesting is creating text mode user interfaces to speed up processes that require the use of various tools. Such as cracking WEP keys etc..

The tools that actually are legit on that site are well known and have their own homepages where you should be getting the binaries from, our your distros repository. The others are very shady looking and don't seem to have source available. When you start seeing things like gmail and hotmail hackers, that's the sign that it's not up to par.
