Any Books to Recommend?

Postby x0d0xx3h » Fri Jul 15, 2011 10:06 am

I'm trying to secure up my system since a few days and I've figured there's way more I never knew about and I'm finally realizing my system was way more insecure than I thought it would be. My system was an open book to say the least.

I think it would be better if I would read a good book on computer security and surfing anonymously on the web instead of keep trying by my own, that way I can make sure I have no holes which I may have over-seen.

I'm basically trying to build a system which is not easy to hack into, and I basically want to surf the web without people knowing which sites I go including the ISP.

I thought about using Hide My Ass (or something similar) for the latter part.

I'm even considering to give Linux a try once again.

Any recommendations?

Again my two goals are:
- make system hard to hack
- surf anonymously the web

I have a book called The hackers guide that's fairly decent at explaining a lot of concepts. The best way to know how you can defend yourself, is to know how you'll be attacked.
If we're breaking the rules, then how come you can't catch us? You can't find us? I know why. Cause, it's ... MAGIC!
