set box vs hd player android

maybe its a bit off topic, but i need ur opinion lads.
i was using HD player till now to watch my 1080/720 movies. lately most movies are not played anymore, unsupported file (even though its still mkv container with h264 and dts). and i can not make a firmware update on it. so i decided to get a new one, android based. but i also so android based bet box, which still plays mkv files but have extra stuff. the price is the same for both, but i think set box is not as good as hd player in file suporting. or if it is based on android should make no difference?

strange, the link is working even on my phone. anyways, its http://en.szider.com/ -> products -> Smart player i9A.
i presume they are the same, in term of playing files, as both are using the same media player (rock player, etc). but the set box has youtube and browser, which is handy. so maybe stick with set box?

just an update.

It's looks really decent, especially for the money.
I'd like to see some more support for different file formats and codex.
But yeah, given it gives you a full android OS so you also have a browser, some games and all that good stuff. I don't think you could do better for the money.

Do they have some mediacenter-ish frontend app they make for it?
