Free Linux/Unix shells.

Post by Cool_Fire » Sat Jun 26, 2010 6:55 pm

I figured I'd start s free shell thread, if you have a free shell host, you can add it in here.
So now to kick things off, here's mine:

Hostname: insomnia247.nl
Type: GNU/Linux (Debian 6)
Available services: ftp, ssh, http/php/cgi, webmin (MySQL on request)
Bandwith and diskspace limits: no hard limits, fair use.
Not allowed: torrents. (This is not fair use since you seriously cut into other peoples bandwith
Network speed: 100 mbit
Extra features: full server and network power backup for approx. 20-30 minutes. Many compilers available, including google Go.

You can request a shell by sending me a pm here, an email or hit me up on IRC (irc.insomnia247.nl, #shells).
More info here: http://wiki.insomnia247.nl/wiki/Shells

Is this still up and running? I'm not getting through.
No, his ISP went a little insane and he had to shut down shell hosting.

Possibly yes. Join the IRC or send me an email about it. This isn't a very adequate place for such discussions.

Even I am interested in setting up a shell account. I followed the advice by ‘Cool_Fire’, but couldn’t get my profile up and running on the IRC. I am not able to create an account, hope you will help me. Thank you in advance!

Thanks
Louren

Hello.
IRC doesn't have any profiles, so I'm not surprised you're having difficulty.
You can use our web chat here: https://www.insomnia247.nl/page/chat or send a PM on this forum.
