slackware wifi card

I just got my slackware box running I currently have a ethernet card there but now Im wireless. I was just wondering if I should be looking for something special when I look for a wifi .

First you need to find out what kind of chipset your wirless card has. If it is prism based then
should help. If it is orinocco then
should do it and lastly if it is atheros based then
should do it for ya, also you can always find the slackware madwifi guide by doing a google search.

Sorry. I forgot to say its a desktop. I reaed that stf though

You'll probably want to stay away from cards that need Ndiswrapper. If you are trying to decide on a card you might want to check out the ones you're considering HERE

I have a *cough* D-Link *cough* DWL-G122, which works fine under linux as i found out last week! :D

Most D-Link wifi cards and pci adapters are prism based, so they have great support under linux and *nix.

Mine uses a Ralink chipset, so i use the rt2750 driver :)

Well it is supported under linux
but like Tech said cards that use ndiswrapper are a bitch to get working at times and from the looks of it, the pci adapter is supported poorly too
A couple of good pci cards here that are cheap also
