Postby xof7 » Tue Jul 24, 2007 12:56 pm

Hey guys. I just got off the phone with Robert (MooreR).
He is going to be getting two years in jail with three years probation.
As well as a $150,000 fine.
They are going to be picking him up in 6-8 weeks.

He really needs any support he can get guys.

I dont believe his phone works in New Jersey but he will be home tomorrow on the 25th.

MooreR was a very active member at htd0rg until he got busted for being part of a voip scam.

Google "Robert Moore voip" and you should be able to find more details.

Was hoping he'd get that last point deducted for house arrest... that's a real kick in the guts. He must be pissed. Do we know what facility he will be spending the two years in? Minimum security ftw?

Ugh man, that really sucks. Thanks for the info though.

I tried calling him before he left, but the calls wouldn't go through. I asked my dad and he said he disabled long distance. If someone reading this speaks to Moore, give him my condolences.

I was really hoping for that point to come off. :(

Damn! two years!?!? That's a big part of your life down the drain. I hope everyone LEARNS from Robert's mistakes and won't make the same ones... Good luck to Robert.

Two years is not a just punishment for the crime. It's all bullshit.

A mate had to take his own company to court to get it declared bankrupt last year because his business partner embezzled ~$470,000. After all was done, the liquidators decided it wouldn't be worthwhile taking the partner to court because it would take too long and cost too much.

The law is disgusting.

Maybe he should contact Rob. He seems to be in dire need of roughly $150K right now. :S

I was really hoping the fine would be waived. :-S

I'd have shown up, but I'm on the other end of the continent.

Damn. I was rather hoping he'd be able to get off with house arrest. At least he has a few weeks to prepare. Still, two years sucks. I still think he got a worse sentence then what he would have got had the other guy not dissapeared. They wanted to make a point, and they had to pin someone.

It really is bullshit. A hacker gets arrested for tampering around with computers / databases / file systems in general, and then the people in this country who commit the real crimes are let off easier. Oh no! Hack a website, get house arrest and they take your PC away. Get in a street fight, get a small fine!

Well, all i can say is that two years will pass by, what has happened... has happened. we should learn from it. There is no point in thinking "oh shiiitit!!! twoo years...wtf!!!...."

The only thing I can really say is to pass a message of support and best of wishes for him, his family and friends. Good luck MooreR :|
