Code: Select all
      root = ( -b + sqrt(pow(b, 2) - (4 * a * c) ) ) / (2 * a);
      return root;

WHY THE F*** DOES EVERYONE INSTALL BACKTRACK AND ASSUME IT WILL HAVE DRIVER SUPPORT FOR EVERYTHING OUT OF THE BOX!?

Look, if you don't want to do work, and you want hardware drivers to just 'be there'

Goto ubuntu.

That is all. Thank you.

O and btw -- Nice link Robb, that should help juan out.

Juan, listen to pozican. Ubuntu is excellent for recognizing all sorts of drivers and also has a great community backing it, making it ideal for both people getting acquainted with linux and the veterans. Also, I use it, which automatically gives it coolness +5.

Also, I just want to throw out that this Robb guy seems to know what he's talking about in his posts so far. Keep up the good work! :)

even if u install the sriver, u ll be able only to capture IVs but u wont be able to do arp injection, so u ll need a long time to capture enough IVs to crack wep/wpa. if u wanted less mess, should bought a card suported by backtrack,listed on their site

Agreed.

Edit:
I agreed on the first paragraph, not the compliment :) But thanks, drusepth

Juanfernando:

Which Ubuntu version are you running? I recommend 7.10 (Gusty Gibbon). Its the latest stable release, and runs a lot smoother than its predecessors.
Code: Select all
      root = ( -b + sqrt(pow(b, 2) - (4 * a * c) ) ) / (2 * a);
      return root;

for backtrack 3 a netgear wpn511 is detected, these cards have a athros chip and the cards , are capable of arp injection, great old cards , cheap and easily hacked,

backtrack 3 is a great security tool, but to use this tool one needs a good understanding of working in shell, as most of the tools , requiire a understanding of unix /linux shell commands. , if I could suggest a good starting point for those interested in linux , start with a dual boot system, using say ubuntu gutsy (too easy) and slackware 12, once you have slackware figured out your on your way !
