I've been on google searching every forum blog and help site i could find. I found plenty of posts with the same issue but none had and answers. I will post my laptops specs soon, i dont have access to them at the moment.

That's probably the root problem, that means it can't properly read from the cd.
This points to either a busted CD drive or a bad CD. If you have access to another computer, you can see if the CD you're using will work in that, so you can isolate the problem.

ATI Radeon HD 4500
Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network adapter(PCI-Express)(rev-01)
Realtek Semiconductor Co. Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller(rev03)
sound: ATI Technologies inc RV710/730

Thanks for the response, I just tested the DVD on my desktop and got the same errors without the address space collision or the EXT3 errors. I only got the Buffer and SQUASHFS errors. Would that mean that there is another issue besides having the bad disc?

Also, I have tried this with both BT4r2 as well as BT4r1, both of which I downloaded from http://www.backtrack-linux.org/downloads/ so it has to be something I am doing right? I have made live cds before for several versions of Ubuntu without having this problem before, is there any chance you know how to fix this?

The other errors don't seem to be ones that would cause it to fail to boot.
I'd suggest doing an md5 sum on the bt4-r2.iso file. It should be 9a94caa0e980a7331e9abc1d4c42c9a9. If the checksum does not match, you'll have to download the iso again.

If the md5sum does match, odds are something went wrong in the burning process. You'll have to burn a new dvd. (If your burning software supports it, have it verify after writing, this means once it's done burning the dvd, it'll read it back and see if it matches the ISO file.)
If you can, try using a different dvd drive to burn the dvd.

As for the other two errors you're getting, they might down the road cause you to be unable to start a graphical desktop and give you trouble using the laptops local storage.

First off, I just re-read my initial post, I was having difficulties posting it since my browser wasn't saving cookies so every time I tried posting it I had to re log in. In the process I lost my first paragraph so I'm re-posting it here:

I wanted to start off by saying thank you to everyone on this forum, hackerthreads.org has been my go to site for almost a year now, although this is my first time actually posting. Everyone here has been more helpful to me than you all know.

Okay, now continuing on from the last post, the checksums did not match. I have to download it again, should I try getting it from somewhere else or was it just a hiccup that should right itself by using the same download link?

I have been wanting to buy a new laptop for awhile now, and I think I will use this as an excuse to do so, lol. Hopefully, that should help a little bit too, I know the hardware in my current laptop has always struggled with compatibility with ubuntu, mainly my ati video card, and my wireless network card.

Scratch the question about downloading the same file again, I found it in the wiki, sorry about the stupid question.

I had to download it 3 times. At the time I was overseas with very sketchy internet and every time I tried to download it, the resulting file failed to produce the same hash value. Haha third times a charm I guess. Yes this thread can be closed, I don't know if that is something I should of done or if an admin has to do it but if it is my responsibility, I don't know how to do it.
