Hacking a gmail account

Postby stargirlbyjs » Wed Nov 09, 2011 3:14 pm

Hi All,

I need serious help -

A person I know is trying to get me in trouble by using what they found in my e-mails against me. At first these were just e-mails from 11 months ago (i used their laptop and assume they got my password from it). No I am facing legal trouble based off of information found illegally, with no authorization from my e-mail. I had a label in my Gmail where I stored all of my conversations with this person. I logged onto my Gmail today - and they are ALL gone. The rest of my e-mails are there, but my e-mails from this person are gone. Gmail allows you to see your last activity and from what IP address your Gmail was logged in on but I need activity from the last 72 hours.

Does anyone know how I can do this or if you're in the Chicago area, I will be more than happy to pay for a service for someone to help me find this out or at least recover the e-mails.

thanks!

I suggest you contact gmail for the activity logs.
As for legal trouble; you have none. Illegally gathered evidence is not admissible in court.
If we're breaking the rules, then how come you can't catch us? You can't find us? I know why. Cause, it's ... MAGIC!

Yes it is. That's only true if the police did something illegal.

Hi all,

Guess who got lucky? ME! I e-mail Google that someone hacked into my Gmail account and erased a bunch of important emails...

I got a fist letter from the Google team telling me that they didn't detect that email were purged from Trash and notified me that I would need a legal order to get a more comprehensive list of activities to my account.

I got a second email from Google two days later stating:

"Hello,

We have received your request to recover messages that may be missing as a result of unauthorized access to your account. We very much apologize that the message that we sent you previously was in error. We did detect that messages were deleted from your account.

If you would like, we can attempt to recover recently deleted mail. This is an experimental feature and unfortunately we cannot guarantee that it will be successful. Please note that during this attempt to recover messages, you won’t be able to access Gmail, but access to other services should be unaffected. The process usually takes a few hours, though it can sometimes take up to several days.

If you would like us to move forward, please respond to this email as soon as possible and we will attempt to recover as much as possible right away. Also understand that we can only process requests that come within the next 7 days.

Please only respond if you would like us to attempt recovery. If you would not like us to try to recover, you do not need to take any action. Please note that a response to this email will trigger the recovery process.

Sincerely,

The Google Team"

THEY RECOVERED ALL MY EMAILS!

For the legal comments: It it AGAINST the law to hack into anyone's personal account which requires a password unless authorized to do so, it is a federal offense under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act - Internet Law.
* Exceptions - if you leave your account open and not logged out, then all bets are off.
