DIY Open Source Hardware KeyLogger project

Post by Electro_N » Thu Jul 10, 2008 5:54 am

It's rather uncommon system's security upgrade suggestion but it can seriusly improve sytem security by completely stealth control of computer usage. Any "uninvited guests" operating from our PC will leave a trace on embedded logger. What's interesting logger can't be tracked by any software scanner as it's 100% hardware solution.

I've found some DIY project describing how to build hardware keyloger at home... http://www.keelog.com/diy.html
it's possible to make an embeddable module to be installed inside keyboard.
There is also the commercial aspect of KeeLog company activity... their offer includes already made professional USB and Ps/2 keyloggers... but unfortunately you have to pay for it.

One thread's enough, chief.
My effort to help you will never exceed your effort to explain the problem.

Thats sounds pretty cool but wouldn't a software keylogger be much more practical? If you have access to a computer its just as easy to insert a disk and install the keylogger. How does it work anyway do you connect it to the USB slot where the keyboard goes and plug the keyboard right into the keylogger?

Ok, here is the another just published DIY project. This time it's Wireless Hardware Keylogger.
Just like previous KeeLog's DIY project - it's free.

You walk up to it very quietly. How often do you look behind your PC to check if there's an extra bit of cable between your PC and your keyboard?
If we're breaking the rules, then how come you can't catch us? You can't find us? I know why. Cause, it's ... MAGIC!
