Hi
I have an old laptop with a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2915ABG wifi card which is almost of no use to me.
I have decided to explore what i can do with the wifi card.
Here's my thought process till now :
It supports 802.11b n g and ofc a so i got access to bands at 5GHz and 2.4 Ghz. The hardware (Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2915ABG) however is good for a lot of other frequencies, but is disabled at firmware (not hardware) level to fulfill FCC export regulations for radio equipment. Now, to modify for transmission will be illegal. But to listen (receive) is fully legal because of it not being detectable in the first place.
So my question is how do I edit firmware on the wifi card chip ?
Its code named "calexico2" by intel, any info that you might have gleaned in your earlier hacks will be helpful.
Thanx
