In most of these cases I'd put monitoring on the network level, rather then the machine level. That way you don't need to worry about the user changing operating systems or detecting and uninstalling your logging tools.

But it is still a valid approach and could well be of use in certain situations.

My husband can't tell lie to me with the software.
Also a web filter to block porn is great too.

MSN doesn't use encryption at all for the chats. Just https for the login data.

hmm i dont know about MSN/Aim but if u are a skype savvy person then read this

Skype Vulnerability Exposing User IP Addresses

url : http://pastebin.com/rBu4jDm8

There is currently no way of protecting yourself against the lookup of the IP address, other than not logging in to Skype when the software is not needed.

source : http://thehackernews.com/2012/05/skype- ... er-ip.html

since i dont use Skype i cannot test it but please some body test it and let me know ( PM me )

The Skype vulnerability does indeed exist and the 'exploit' does work. However, the real question should be how much it matters. Your IP address is all over the place all the time anyway. Someone having your IP address should in no way be a security concern.

Having said that, they should still fix it simply because it's not supposed to work this way regardless of it's implications on security.
