Open-Source Wordlist

Post by BatchC++Python » Fri May 09, 2014 12:52 am

Think you have a strong password? Use our free online utility to test your password strength against one of the toughest wordlists. If your password isn't detected in our password list, you can opt-in to submit it to contribute to the ever-expanding wordlist, and download it whenever you want.

The submission link is here: http://mdub.zapto.org/Projects/OSW/index.html

I'm pretty sure I'm not that interested in putting my passwords into a random database.

And that's completely fine. It's just an ever growing word list. We're going to add an option where you can opt-out of adding your password to the list.

It's an interesting enough way to gather passwords. When the list gets a little bigger I may see if there's a significant crossesction that I can add to my hash database.

You now can specify if your password is contributed to the wordlist or not, hope this takes care of privacy issues.

Well, if you trust the option is legitimate it's ok. But it's still never a very good idea to send plain text passwords you're using over unencrypted channels.
